Psychic Predictions

First I want to say thanks to everyone for the wonderful and thoughtful comments on my pictures from the modeling post. I really do appreciate that!  Channeling my psychic abilities---they're failing. Well, if I were a psychic this is what I would say was coming soon   **WWW.OASAP.COM is now the first sponsor of my blog...yippie, yippie, do a happy dance!  What does this mean? I will be sent items from their website occasionally and including those items in an outfit post/review. My first item is on it's way!!! (Do another happy dance) Sorry but I'm so excited and I just can't hide it, I'm about to lose control and I think I like it. **I am going to start a post that will be done bi-weekly, I will run this post more often or less frequently depending on the amount of interests shown. I would like to feature my awesome readers so...send me a photo of you in a rockin outfit, a description, a little about yourself, and whatever else you want to possibly be included.

Tangerine...Seriously???

Tangerine...Seriously??? by polkadotlife featuring a bow blouse As we all know, tangerine has been named the tinge hue of the season for spring. Orange is 1. The color in my wardrobe that I own the least of 2. Not so flattering on myself (maybe I should let you vote on that) 3. Add to black = it's Halloween, add to white & yellow = candy corn (although such a delicious treat) 4. It's just my least favorite color 5. Brown is usually as close as I get 6. Alright alright...I hear you. Maybe I'll TRY something in a more pale or reddish/pinkish shade of this color you call orange.  How do you feel about the hue of spring 2012?

Living my Childhood Dream...part time anyway

When I was a little girl, I wanted to grow up and become a 5'8 model with long luscious hair...just like every other 8 year old I knew. At that time in my life no one bothered to tell me that 5'2 was as high as I was going. Being very short I never really considered the possibility of fulfilling my childhood dream until about a year and a half ago. #1. I love Italy but they have little to no desire for shorties like myself as far as modeling goes.  #2. Majority of my modeling work happens when I go back to the states to visit. #3. Modeling is a part time "hobby" of mine. I say hobby because it's not like I'm Naomi, Gisele, or Tyra making the big bucks.  #4. With all that being said, I still love modeling. A photographer once asked me why I wanted to model. My response was this..."Besides it being a childhood dream of mine, and liking it as a job, it combines all the things I love. When you mix together photography, creativeness, fashion & design,

Book Worm..."Little Bitty Lies"

Starting tomorrow, Monday January 30, I will start reading "Little Bitty Lies" by Mary Kay Andrews. I'm reading this book with the book club on base that I am part of. There is no set reading schedule, we plan on having our meeting the end of February. However, I will be done with it in a few days most likely. Please leave me a comment below if you'd like to read along and there will be a discussion once we're all done reading. That seams fair right? Here is the book description... " In a suburban Atlanta neighborhood where divorce is as rampant as kudzu, Mary Bliss McGowan doesn’t notice that her own marriage is in trouble until the summer night she finds a note from her husband, telling her he’s gone — and taken the family fortune with him. Stunned and humiliated, a desperate Mary Bliss, left behind with her seventeen-year-old daughter, Erin, and a mountain of debt, decides to salvage what’s left of her life by telling one little bitty li

Feelin Like Mrs. Martha...

Martha as in Martha Stewart minus the jail time.  The thought just occurred to me that I'll be living in Italy for another year and a half, which means that we've already been here for 2 1/2 years. So no wonder I have an itch to redecorate. Even though we really never decorated too much in the first place because the landlord won't let us paint our walls, yes it sucks. Plus I'm not the greatest interior decorator so we'll see what happens. Anyway, I'm leaning toward artsy, modern, glam, or a combination. I'm waiting on my new entertainment center to get here, it's very similar to this one All those little cubbies give me plenty of room to add whatever decor items I've got a feel for. Here's a peek at what I've got my eye on at the moment (all from Amazon)... White Ceramic Owl here Roman Arch Bookends here Liberty Bronze Stallion here I figured that so far that's a good start. Of course I'll need a few more odds and

Spring 2012 Trend: Floral

One of my favorite things about spring is when the flowers start to bloom. I can plant flowers, veggies, and spices outside and put fresh smelly good flowers in my house...everything flowers excites me in the spring. So you can imagine the joy that overcame me for fashion week. Proenza Schouler's pieces were very feminine with intricate bead work and Oscar de la Renta's florals were just chin to the floor OMG gorgeous. My personal favorite (drum roll please)...Louis Vuitton's ladylike and delicate approach.  Perfectly cut flowers, feathers, whites and creams...I would consider giving up an arm for one of these dresses! Okay maybe not, but I can be in hopes of finding something similar to this dress at a more affordable price. PS- I actually just received my order from Forever 21 which included a few floral items (mostly shirts). But I really should have ordered those floral sequin heels to. Anyway...outfit posts with my newly purchased stuff will come soon! Sprin

Viaggio Venezia

(Gondola rides...around 60-80 euro for 30 to 45 minutes) Venice...thought of as a beautiful and stunning place filled with romance, boutiques, cafes on every corner, lavish architecture, and the ever famous gondolas. It must be said, the American image of this foreign city is mostly correct! The only downfalls I find are the tourists, the prices, the stairs & no ramps (hard to do with a stroller), and of course the FAKE purse people that drive you crazy. Of course, the great things about Venice trump the not so great. (Basilica di San Marco) (Basilica di San Marco) (Piazza di San Marco) The Basilica di San Marco is the #1 must see in Venice and is located in the famous San Marco's Square. I have been in Italy for 2 1/2 years now and am sad to say that I have yet to go inside the church (Basilica di San Marco). The line is always so long that it wraps around to the back side...and when you have a toddler with you waiting in such a long line really isn't an option. I

Mock Style: Olsen in Blue

(Dress  here/ Blazer here/ Glitter Pump here/ Black Pump here/ Belt sold out/ Ring here/ Pearl & Ribbon Necklace sold out/ Heart Necklace here / Gel Eyeliner  here/ Est'e Lauder Collection sold out) Cobalt blue is one of the many colors I've been obsessing over. I came across this July 2008 ELLE cover shoot and of course fell in love and thought, yes...I need a dress like this! Looking at old magazine covers or pictures just proves that trends do come and go, but some elements of fashion and style are always classic. For daytime wearing, you could switch out the platforms for flats or strappy sandals with a lower heel. I would loose the belt, go for the blazer undone, and throw on a few bracelets instead of piling on necklaces.

Wish List

Spring is right around the corner and I can't wait because there are so many great trends that I can't wait to take part in.  1. Color blocking ...never has been my thing, but as part of the new year I'm going to take risks even if I am unsure. 2. Structured Handbag's have always peaked my interests, but I don't have any bags this sleek. Of course a little metallic adds in a piece of fun and glam to!  3. The Star Print fad has gotten to me and I now want it 4. Sequin Shorts are perfect for a spring/summer night out, these will be next since I've already ordered the leather ones.  5. The Hunger Games is an awesome trilogy and YES this bracelet is not only inspired by the books/movie but it's also fashionable. Sort of reminds me of the southwestern trend 6. Hot Pink Strappy Platforms- What more do I have to say? Really?  7. Pink Cutout Dress - Now this is the type of cutout dress I've been looking for! Still ladylike, not too revealing, and show
